About the Certification
OAPGG, together with the Oklahoma Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services (ODMHSAS), has developed a state certification for problem gambling counselors which is outlined in Title 450: Chapter 75; Standards and Criteria for Certified Problem Gambling Treatment Counselors.

If you’ve never been certified, or if you’re transferring a different certification to Oklahoma’s CPGC, start here.

Education and training:
12 hours of group case consultation and present 2 cases
50 hours of gambling-specific supervised counseling services
Application:
a copy of your license
a copy of your basic training certificate
group case consultation and supervised hours forms

Application:
a copy of your license
certificates for 10 hours of gambling-specific training that you have completed in the past year

An application fee of $50 will be paid to ODMHSAS. Please do not pay this fee until you are instructed by OAPGG to do so.
When your application is complete, you will be notified that it has been forwarded to the Oklahoma Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services (ODMHSAS) for final review and approval.
Renew Your Certification

The deadline for renewal is June 30.
(Newly certified counselors have a full year after becoming certified to complete their CEUs for renewal; therefore, their renewal deadline is the June 30 after a full year has passed.)
A late fee of $25 will be applied to applications submitted after June 30.
